Review: Bella Marino

Update: location change

Bella Marino has moved from Straits Quay in May 2014.  They can now be found in Pulau Tikus at no. 334 Leandros Lane, Pulau Tikus.

On Father’s day my family went to Straits Quay for lunch.  After wandering around looking at menus and assessing crowdedness of restaurants we settled on Bella Marino on the ground floor.  It is a narrow restaurant and it got crowded pretty quickly.

I ordered the Penne alla Pappagano (number 17 on the Bella Marino Menu).  It was delicious.  The portion was smaller than I expected, but I had room to help the kids with their pizza.

The kids ordered a Pizza Pollo (number 40 on Bella Marino Menu).  It is called a Roast Chicken pizza, but with the addition of pineapple, I’m inclined to think of this one as a Hawaiian pizza.  I really enjoyed the pizza, and the kids ate it very well, which is always a good thing.

My wife ordered the Zuppa di Frutti di Mare di Pomodoro, a tomato based seafood soup (number 17 on Bella Marino Menu).  She raved about this soup.  She said it was in the top two of all time soups she’s had!

After lunch as we were getting ready to pay and go I was able to converse with the owner Terence.  I asked him for a menu so I could remember the names of the dishes I ordered and he offered to email them to me.  He also gave me permission to post it here.

We will be coming back to this restaurant in the future.

PS.  I liked them on facebook as well
