Office furniture

Many of us are coming here to Penang, Malaysia to set up a new business. I know several reps for large companies that have come to break ground on new factories and offices. There are also those of us that are just here to live, but we need office furniture in our homes. Well there are two good sources to check out besides the furniture shops that I’ve already listed in a popular past post.

DSOP is a great place to start.  Their main showroom can be found near the Jetty, close to where you catch the ferry to the mainland.  They’ve got a huge selection of executive desks and chairs.  There’s modular furniture to help you set up workstations or cubicles for your employees.  You’ll also find the office equipment you’ll need to get a business up and going: cash registers, printers, faxes, telephones, shredders, etc.

Penang Island Showroom (Mon-Fri : 8.30am-5.30pm, Sat : 8.30am-1.00pm)

6 & 6A, Pengkalan Weld, 10300 Georgetown, Pulau Pinang

I had also found these little gems that I am considering. We don’t have our children in any of the international schools in Penang, nor do we have them in any local schools.  We homeschool, and at the moment, the school desk is the same as the dining table.  We’d have to move things around, but these might be a good addition to our little school.

When I visited, these were running in the RM100-200 range.  Some are better than others and therefore pricier.

Delta office furniture

I have not yet been to the big showroom near Green Lane.

18-01-01, Lorong Delima 1,11600 Pulau Pinang.
Cellphone : 012-425 7600
Phone : 04-656 0800
Fax No : 04-659 1300

I have been to the Burmah Road show room.

203, Jalan Burma, 10050 Pulau Pinang.
Cellphone : 017-478 3888
Phone : 04-226 1600
Fax No : 04-04-227 1600

What can I say.  I saw the fax machines and cash registers.  I saw some modular furniture and executive desks.  All in all similar offerings as DSOP minus the student desks.

You can check out the DELTA online catalog to get a better sense of what they have to offer.
